College Football: Top 15 running backs entering 2018, ranked
It was a tough road to get to 2017 for Rodney Anderson. He missed most of the 2015 and 2016 seasons with injuries, but made up for lost time in a big way last year. He took over as the starting back for the Sooners midway through the season and ended the season on an absolute tear, running for 1,079 yards and 11 touchdowns in his final eight games. He was also a threat as a receiver out of the backfield, totaling 281 receiving yards and five touchdown catches on the season.
Anderson saved his biggest performances for two of his biggest games. Against TCU in the regular season, he ran 23 times for 151 yards, caught five passes for 139 yards, and scored four total touchdowns. Against Georgia in the Rose Bowl, he rushed 26 times for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
He’s been getting plenty of offseason Heisman buzz, and justifiably so. Imagine what he can do with a full season’s worth of games.
