The Eagles are going to have to recruit better in order to keep this momentum building into 2019 and 2020. BC’s recruiting class was ranked 69th in the nation by 247 Sports and brought in a slew of three-star offensive linemen and linebackers. The S&P+ has the Eagles climbing all the way to 48th in their pre-season rankings adjusted for returning output and recruiting. In a season that will be filled with close games won on the ground, the Eagles have to improve upon their 91st ranked special teams unit.

The Eagles start their season off easily with games against UMass and Holy Cross before a tough road trip. The Eagles have to travel to improved Wake Forest and Jeff Brohm‘s Purdue Boilermakers in a body blow theory of games. BC returns home to face Temple, then hits the road against NC State before hosting Louisville. The Eagles could be staring at 4-3 or 6-1 depending on how they come out in close games.

After the bye week the schedule is more daunting. Addazio’s squad hosts Miami, travels to Virginia Tech, hosts Clemson, and then travels to Florida State before ending the season at home against Syracuse. If BC is going to claim they’re back in the ACC spotlight, they have to compete against the ‘Canes and ‘Noles while beating the Orange at home.

Next: Way-too-early 2019 NFL Mock Draft

This is one of those seasons where BC could play much better football but wind up with only a one-game difference in their final results.

Prediction: 7-5
