K.C. Keeler

The Jayhawks are running an Air Raid offense and K.C. Keeler could keep the Air Raid offense on the field. Keeler found his initial success as the head football coach of the Rowan Profs in Division III. After posting an 88-21-1 overall record and five national championship game losses, Keeler returned to Delaware where he played linebacker for the Blue Hens.

In 2003, Keeler finally got his championship game win, and lost two other FCS title games in 2007 and 2010 while posting an 86-52 record. Keeler’s biggest move was replacing the famous Delaware Wing-T with a hurry-up spread offense, and thanks to Wannstedt’s choosing of Palko, Keeler coached Joe Flacco.

After a year away from the game, Coach Keeler resurfaced at Sam Houston State. Under Keeler’s tutelage, the Bearkats have posted a 46-12 overall record including four FCS playoff runs in four seasons. While Keeler is a northeasterner he’s creating invaluable recruiting ties in Texas while at SHSU. He’s mentored young coaches like Troy’s Neal Brown, and Ole Miss offensive coordinator Phil Longo.

If Jeff Long hires K.C. Keeler it would be a departure from the expected and could be the spark the Jayhawks need.
