20. No. 9 Texas A&M defeats Sam Houston, 47-28

Nov. 17, 2012

Texas A&M fans were riding high after a thrilling victory over No.1 Alabama and the parties in College Station hadn’t died down when the team returned to Kyle Field to take on Sam Houston the next weekend. There might not be a single Aggie that remembers this game, save for one quirky moment.

On the Aggies first play of the second half Manziel uncorked an 89-yard touchdown pass to Uzoma Nwachukwu to put the Aggies up 40-0. Sensing a safe lead **UCLA, cough cough***, Kevin Sumlin trotted out Manziel for the extra point. The Heisman winner to-be could do a lot of things, but kicking turned out not to be one of them. Manziel shanked the attempt and ended his day with 367 total yards, five touchdowns and 0-for-1 on PATs.

At this point Texas A&M didn’t have much to play for, making this game rather meaningless. Fortunately, as he did more often than not, Manziel made the ordinary an event worth sticking around to see.
