After an anomaly year in 2016, the Spartans returned to form last season with a 10-win season capped by a Holiday Bowl victory. When the Spartans are doing well, there are plenty of happy tailgaters in East Lansing.

One of the big traditions for the Spartans is their band. The drumline performs on Grand River Avenue and the full band holds a pre-game concert at Adams Field. Fans start lining up with small tailgates and picnics surrounding the field hours before the band arrives. The team takes the Spartan Walk from the team hotel to the stadium. As they pass the Spartan Statue, each player rubs the statue’s foot for good luck.

Plenty of food and revelry to be had in East Lansing on a Spartan game day. It is definitely a not miss tailgating spot in Big Ten country.
