Like their rival Oklahoma, the Longhorns have a huge tailgate party before the annual Red River Showdown. However the saying “Everything’s bigger in Texas” certainly holds true for Longhorn football home games.

The Texas campus sprawls across a ton of land in Austin and on a football Saturday, nearly every inch of it is covered in tailgates. It’s Texas so expect to have plenty of grilled meats and listen to country music until your heart is content. Plus the city itself is one of the best foodie cities in America, so there are plenty of spots to check out for food and drink before the game.

The Longhorns have not been in the national spotlight since 2009, but they hope that will change soon under second-year coach Tom Herman. Until they return to national prominence, Longhorn fans will continue to party hard at their Saturday tailgates.
