Fans will root for former East Mississippi Community College and Last Chance U defensive tackle Ronald Ollie to take his talents to the NFL in 2019.

With two new parts to the Netflix documentary now involving both Independence Community College and East Mississippi Community College, “Last Chance U” is once again in the bright spotlight of the college football world. This series is one of the staples for Netflix and hit big in Part 3 with the focus on Independence C.C.

If we flashback to the first two parts of the series, East Mississippi C.C. had a ton of stars of the show that fans loved. The one that usually sticks out as the most loved and recognized altogether is current Nicholls State defensive tackle Ronald Ollie.

After an up and down first season at Nicholls State, Ollie tried to transfer out of the program before the 2017 campaign. He has since decided that he will return to Nicholls State for the 2018 season. This will be the final year of eligibility that Ollie has in his college career.

That means that if Ollie is serious about making that run to the next stage of his football career, something will have to give very soon. Ollie gave up on his college career for one year, but the final episode in the most recent part of “Last Chance U” gave fans a glimpse into how he is trying to get into top shape.

That final episode, or Part 4 of “Last Chance U”, looked back at what has happened with some of the big EMCC alumni since Part 2 was up. A lot of the two years of players that EMCC was featured on the show ended up with Lane Kiffin and the Florida Atlantic Owls.

However, Ollie is still trying to fight his way up the FCS ranks. Defensive lineman can still be selected in the NFL Draft. To say that is an uphill battle doesn’t even begin to describe the journey that Ollie would have to take.

If he gets far enough in his development, Ollie could get a chance at a rookie contract with an NFL team following the 2019 NFL Draft. The talent and strength are there for Ollie to have a run at an NFL career. It’s mainly his mindset that has held him back since he was first spotlighted on “Last Chance U”.
