Will Rutgers ever avenge its embarrassing 78-0 loss against Michigan? Maybe in the future but the chances this season look grim. Michigan is another team in the East division that can be a serious contender for the overall conference championship.

Jim Harbaugh‘s Wolverines return a core of young talent from a year ago with a team that had several starting roles filled by underclassmen.

Offensively, Michigan brings back a wide receiver duo of Donovan Peoples-Jones, coming back from injury, and Tarik Black. Add in senior Karan Higdon and key transfer Shea Patterson to fill a void at quarterback and the Wolverines are a dangerous offensive team.

On defense, the Wolverines also have a few playmakers in one of the best defensive linemen in the country in Rashan Gary and linebacker Devin Bush.

Rutgers has not fared too well against Michigan, with only one win against the Wolverines in four meetings. That win came in 2014 and the win was largely secured because of a blocked field goal late in the game.

That win may have ignited a flame of hope but Michigan will still be the favorite to win this one.

Final: Michigan 35, Rutgers 17 (6-4, 3-4 Big Ten)
