5. Louisiana (Sept. 29)

The Ragin’ Cajuns will be the second Sun Belt team Alabama faces thus far in the season. Louisiana struggled last year and, in response, fired Mark Hudspeth after a seven-year stint with the team. Billy Napier was hired shortly after. The Sun Belt Coaches poll has Louisiana predicted to be fourth in the West division…aka not very good at all.

Frankly, this will be a recovery week/game for Alabama. The Tide won’t have a bye week until the ninth week of the season. And one of the biggest factors for teams to be successful is to be healthy. This week gives Bama a good opportunity to heal any nagging wounds for some of the key starters.

And….it keeps coming up, but this will give both quarterbacks a chance to get significant playing time. Nick Saban learned the value of two quarterbacks last year in the CFP National Championship game and will likely look to keep both fresh at all times throughout the year.

Final: Alabama 56 (5-0) – Louisiana 0
