3. Derion Kendrick- Wide Receiver, Freshman
Kendrick was one of the top receivers in this recruiting class, and its no surprise he made this list. Coming in as the No. 26 overall player and the No. 4 Wide Receiver according to 247 Sports, he should be able to stretch the field and make plays early in his career.
At 6-foot-1 he should be a major threat in the red zone even as a freshman. When you look at the film on him he has the strength to muscle smaller defenders, and the speed to outrun everyone on the field.
When Clemson goes to their five-wide receiver sets Kendrick will normally be that fourth or fifth man, so placing a slower linebacker or a smaller safety on him could lead to huge problems for the defense.
The Tigers are stacked at receiver but that doesn’t mean he won’t get a chance to see time as a return man on kickoffs as well. If he gets his hands on a return he has the speed to take it to the house once he gets a small piece of open field.
We should expect a few major highlights from the true freshman this season.
