Thompson at Last Chance U

As one of the most likable characters in Part 3 of Last Chance U at ICC, Thompson was a wide receiver that everyone was rooting for to succeed in his recruitment. However, the eligibility clock ran out for Thompson to ever play Power Five conference football again since his first season with Texas Tech came in 2013.

ICC’s best special teams threat, and possibly its most elusive player altogether, was Thompson. He made a huge impact returning kicks and punts on multiple occasions throughout the course of Last Chance U. He was also one of the two top wide receivers that former Florida State Seminoles quarterback Malik Henry commonly looked to, along with Calvin Jackson Jr.

For only playing in six games during the 2017 campaign for ICC, Thompson was huge for the offense. Thompson caught 48 passes for 544 yards and three touchdowns. If the ICC passing game had found more consistency with Henry under center, the potential for Thompson would’ve been limitless.

Moreover, considering Thompson was used as more of a short yardage route runner for ICC in 2017, he averaged an impressive amount of yards per catch. Thompson averaged more than 11.0 yards per catch in the 2017 campaign for ICC. His route running ability and agility were put on display consistently as backed up by his yards per catch for the season.
