After their huge week one face off, Michigan gets a bit of a break in game two, as they host WMU. If this was the WMU of 2016 it’d be a different story, but the Broncos haven’t returned to the peaks they hit under P.J. Fleck.

This also won’t be a cakewalk. Western Michigan is one of the more balanced teams in the MAC, and returns a lot of production. They’re not going to be great on either side of the ball, but they won’t make a lot of mistakes.

Michigan’s defense will be able to stifle a mediocre offense. My concerns are with Michigan’s offense. If Shea Patterson throws a couple of interceptions, or the running back room struggles to get going, this could be closer than it should be.

Throw in the fact that WMU has a pretty decent quarterback in Jon Wassink, so he may be able to attack this backfield a bit. This game may be entertaining for a quarter or a half, but I don’t think it has staying power. Michigan is too talented and should roll here.

Prediction: Michigan wins, 35-6
