The S&P+ pre-season rankings have TCU at 22nd overall and finishing the season 8-4. I think after a top 25 recruiting class (per 247 sports) and with Oklahoma and Oklahoma State having to start a new quarterback and with Baylor, Texas Tech and Kansas all down the Frogs could sneak into the Big 12 title picture.

Per Bill C, the Frogs are only a predicted loss in two games, against Ohio State and Oklahoma. However, the Buckeyes have a scandal on their hands and a head coach in Urban Meyer on administrative leave. This could throw off tOSU’s playoff dreams and the game is played in Arlington, TX so basically a home game for TCU.

The Horned Frogs start off with easy wins against Southern and SMU before the showdown with the Buckeyes. TCU then heads to Austin to take on the Longhorns before hosting the improved Iowa State Cyclones.

After the bye week, TCU has what I foresee as an easy win against Texas Tech before hosting Oklahoma. Can the Sooners keep Kyler Murray healthy enough to not sit out to save his baseball career? A sandwich game against Kansas is a win before hosting Kansas State which is always a tricky opponent.

Road trips against West Virginia and Baylor should be wins for Patterson’s squad before a tough home game against the Cowboys of Oklahoma State.
