Licking their wounds after a bitter rivalry loss, the Hurricanes hit the road for the first time in about a month. They’ll take on ACC Coastal foe Virginia.

In his second season in Charlottesville, coach Bronco Mendenhall took the Cavaliers from 2-10 to 6-7. Granted they lost six of their last seven games including a thumping against Navy in the bowl game, but six wins are better than two.

The Cavaliers lose a fair amount of seniors from last year’s team so they might struggle to get back to a bowl, but they should be in most of their games. Thanks to a not too difficult schedule that misses both Clemson and Florida State plus seven home games, the Cavs may just squeeze out the six wins they need. The Miami game will not be one of those wins.

The Hurricanes will be looking to bounce back after defeat and they will take it out on poor Virginia. Malik Rosier does not turn over the ball once against the Cavs, throwing three touchdowns instead. Travis Homer picks up over 100 yards on the ground and adds another two scores. The Miami defense terrorizes whichever starting quarterback Virginia sends out there, tallying five sacks and three turnovers. Miami cruises into their bye week with an easy victory.

Final: Miami 42, Virginia 14 (6-1, 2-1 ACC)
