Isaiah Wright, the standout star from the first version of Netflix hit “Last Chance U”, has a shot at picking up the pieces.
Isaiah Wright, erstwhile star of Last Chance U, was released from jail earlier this week after he struck a plea deal. It seems that Wright still wants his chance on the gridiron. The plea deal could be difficult for Wright — he needs him to testify against his brother, Camion Patrick, as well as the other defendants in the homicide case.
Wright was an insanely talented running back on the Netflix documentary series. In a lucky break, he was released from jail and had his criminal homicide charge dismissed.
The Last Chance U star has been in the gray bar hotel since September, when he pled guilty to aggravated robbery. Initially, Wright and his brother, Patrick, were among four men charged in the fatal stabbing of Caleb Radford, 18. When Wright took the plea deal, Netflix was right there filming, according to Knoxville’s WVLT-TV.
Wright wasted no time appealing to football coaches via Twitter, but it seems that his tweets have been taken down. I’m not sure why the tweets have disappeared; if I find out, I will report back here.
Everyone deserves a second chance — we’ll see if Wright can keep his nose clean. He still has another year of JUCO eligibility, should he choose to go that route. Wright will need a firm hand, but whatever coach picks him up will have a fireball player.
