9. Kansas (Nov. 3)

The easy part of Iowa State’s Big 12 schedule continues against the dismal Kansas Jayhawks. The Cyclones had no issues taking care of business against the Jayhawks last season, putting up a 45-0 shutout in a soaking-wet Jack Trice Stadium. Iowa State has won their last three meetings against Kansas and that trend shows no signs of stopping anytime soon, or at least until Kansas can hire a competent coach.

There is really no way to tippy-toe around this, so let’s just be frank; Kansas is bad and is by far the worst Power Five program in college football. While they are bad, that doesn’t mean there isn’t talent at least somewhere on this team. Junior Khalil Herbert showed a lot of promise as a junior and the defense has solid players such as linebacker Joe Dineen and defensive tackle Daniel Wise, but other than that, the term “slim pickens” accurately describes the rest of the roster.

Iowa State will make sure this game is not close, they want style points to show the national pundits that they can put away the bad teams early. It also doesn’t help the Jayhawks cause when there is a rivalry between the two fanbases that can at times be venomous. Cyclones roll big in Lawrence.

Final: Iowa State 55 (7-2) – Kansas 3
