Ayodele Adeoye was a four-star recruit from the IMG Academy in Florida, which was 9-0 in his senior season. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri and is Nigerian. He is listed as the backup behind senior linebacker Gary Johnson. If he is not redshirted, Adeoye’s only playing time may be on special teams this season.

Adeoye is 6-foot-1, 250 pounds and played in the Under Armour All-America game. He is a hard hitter who also has good speed for his size. He is an effective blitzer that also caused numerous fumbles in high school.

Unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury during fall practice that may affect his ability to contribute, but the seriousness of the injury is unknown at this point. Still, Texas is thin at linebacker, so he could get some playing time and see an expanded role if any of the starting linebackers get injured throughout the season.
