Cameron Dicker should be the starter in 2018 as a freshman after being a three-star kicker and ranked fourth in his class at his position. Kickers can make or break games, so his importance should not be underestimated.

Dicker is from Austin, Texas, but he was born in Hong Kong and has also lived in Taiwan and Shanghai according to his bio on texassports.com. He was the kicker for Lake Travis High School for three seasons.

Dicker’s competition for the starting kicker job is senior Joshua Rowland, who struggled last season despite being the top kicker in the class of 2017 as a JUCO commit. He only converted 61% of his field goal attempts last season, making 11 of his 18 attempts.

Dicker has a solid chance to win the starting kicking job and should be a more consistent kicker than Rowland. Dicker made 34 of his 43 field goal attempts in high school and 229 out of 232 PATs.
