The Spartans find themselves back on the road again as they take on the Maryland Terrapins. The Maryland football program has had a nightmare of an offseason and as of now, have their head coach DJ Durkin on administrative leave along with other members of the staff.

The Terrapins, who are 10-24 in conference play since they joined the Big Ten, look to make 2018 a progression year as they welcome in a new offense and a recruiting class that was ranked 28th by 247 Sports.

But with a horrific scandal looming over the offseason, and the likeliness of an interim head coach stepping in, the Terrapins could be at the bottom of the pack in the Big Ten. This one is a breeze for the Spartans defense, as they keep Maryland out of the endzone for most of the first half. Brian Lewerke scores more touchdowns on the ground than he does in the air and the Spartans keep their slim conference championship hopes alive.

Final: Michigan State 34, Maryland 17. Record: 7-2 (4-2)
