For Senior Day, Michigan State takes on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Rutgers joined the Big Ten the same year as Maryland, and like the Terrapins they haven’t seen much success going 7-27 in conference play. Four of those seven conference wins came in 2017, shining light on a football program trying to find its way.

Rutgers could be bowl bound in 2018 but they’ll have to achieve that goal in the first half of the season as they end this year with Wisconsin, Michigan, Penn State and of course, Michigan State.

Senior day is in full affect as the Spartans dominate the Scarlet Knights on both sides of the ball. Brian Lewerke totals five touchdowns and LJ Scott runs for 150 yards in his final home as a Spartan. Rutgers tacks on a couple last minute scores to make it look like less of a blowout as the Spartans score over 50 points for the first time since 2015. Although their goal of a Big Ten title was not met, the Spartans end the 2018 regular season on a high note.

Final: Michigan State 52, Rutgers 20. Final Record: 9-3 (6-3)
