To finish off their non-conference schedule, the Spartans head home to take on Central Michigan Chippewas. The Chippewas, like most MAC teams, are hard to evaluate heading into the 2018 season. For their conference, they have one of the best front sevens, but translate that to the rest of college football, and it ranks in the bottom third. Even with a decent front seven, don’t expect the Chippewas to compete for a title in the MAC, unless three or four conference losses does the trick.

So as expected, it will be all Michigan State in this one. Brian Lewerke never sees the second half as he passes for three touchdowns and nearly 300 yards giving the Spartans a four-score lead heading into halftime. Without the starters in on offense, the scoring slows down for the Spartans in the second half but their defense adds a touchdown of their own as Michigan State caps off their non-conference schedule with a blowout win.

Final: Michigan State 48, Indiana 10. Record: 4-0 (1-0)
