Following their big win over Michigan, the Spartans stay at home to take on one of the most improved teams in the Big Ten in 2017, the Purdue Boilermakers. During his first year as head coach, Jeff Brohm led the Boilermakers to their first winning season since 2011.

The Boilermakers are still a year away from competing for a Big Ten title but with Elijah Sindelar returning under center, Purdue could play upset to some of their Big Ten foes.

However, Purdue will not be upsetting anyone this time around. LJ Scott has a monster game, rushing for almost 200 yards and three scores. Purdue gains some ground to the Spartan lead, scoring right before halftime and at the beginning of the second half. But, the Spartans defense put the clamps down and shutout the Boilermakers for the rest of the game. Michigan State takes care of Purdue and moves above .500 in conference play.

Final: Michigan State 35, Purdue 21. Record: 6-2 (3-2)
