4. Penn State has a more experienced quarterback

Trace McSorley is a Heisman candidate who has had the greatest impact on Penn State’s turnaround from average to elite status in college football. Former running back Saquon Barkley and head coach James Franklin played major roles in the turnaround, but McSorley is most responsible for Penn State’s recent success.

Ohio State does have a talented quarterback in Dwayne Haskins, who was a four-star recruit in 2016 out of Potomac, Maryland. He has some game experience from last season as he played in five games and finished the season with three passing touchdowns.

In comparison, McSorley has a 22-5 record as a starter at Penn State and 7,369 career passing yards. He has multiple records and has played in many important games already.

Haskins will be a good quarterback for Ohio State, but McSorley’s experience and winning attitude gives Penn State the edge over Ohio State at quarterback, the most important position in football.
