3. Willie Taggart is a great coach

Willie Taggart is the fresh face in town and just what the Seminoles need to make a turn around. There is a ton of excitement in Tallahassee and people have high hopes there will soon be a lot of victories to celebrate.

We have mentioned Taggart’s new fast-paced offense. It is certain to yield a more exciting product to watch on Saturdays than Jimbo Fisher’s slow pro-style offenses. The spread works well at the college level and many players love executing it and flourish in it.

In addition to the new system, Taggart is taking Florida State in a new direction. Jimbo Fisher is part of the Bobby Bowden coaching tree and was an extension of the Bowden era. While he had success, Taggart will take the program with a new philosophy and swagger it has not seen in quite a long time. Having a fresh start for the program is just what the Seminoles need.

Taggart has had success everywhere he has gone in turning around programs. He turned around both Western Kentucky and South Florida in a short time. In his lone season at Oregon, the Ducks went from 4-8 to 7-5.

This is Taggart’s dream job. He wants to be in Tallahassee and bring back the glory days of championships for the Seminoles. While a national title is unlikely this season, he will have the Seminoles as the top program in the state again in quick order.
