Defensive Line

Starting ends: Nick Bosa, Chase Young

Backups: Jonathan Cooper, Jashon Cornell, Tyreke Smith

This is another position where the starters are super obvious. Bosa and Young are both stars, and they’re ready to be the full-time starters after sharing time with Sam Hubbard and Tyquan Lewis last year. With no worries about those two, the tone will be set early up front this year.

The depth is excellent too. Cooper would start at almost every other school in the country. Cornell is a former four-star and has just gotten caught up in a loaded depth chart thus far in his career. Smith was nearly a five-star in the 2018 class.

Ohio State has had some phenomenal lines in the past few years under Larry Johnson, and this honestly may be the best of the bunch. The ends aren’t as deep as usual, but they’re still fantastic. Cooper should see the field a ton, and I think a heavy rotation here will make this group deadly in pass rush.

Starting tackles: Dre’Mont Jones, Robert Landers

Backups: Davon Hamilton, Haskell Garrett, Antwuan Jackson

If you thought the ends were loaded, let me introduce you to the tackles. Jones would’ve been a first-round draft pick had he declared, and may be the best tackle in the conference. Landers was quietly dominant last year and has a super high ceiling.

Behind them is Hamilton, who has plenty of experience, and roughly 30 former four and five stars. Garrett, Taron Vincent, Tommy Togiai should all see the field. Throw in transfer Antwuan Jackson, and this unit might be unblockable this fall.

This is pretty easily the most amount of talent Ohio State has had on the interior line since Urban Meyer arrived. They’ve had some good player,s but they’ve never had this cohesive or deep a unit, and I’m so excited to see how they’re utilized.
