Defensive Backs

Starting safeties: Isaiah Pryor, Jordan Fuller

Backups: Amir Riep, Brendon White, Jahsen Wint

While Damon Webb may be gone, the Buckeyes still have plenty of talent in the back of their defense. Fuller was a breakthrough star as a sophomore last year and should be ready to lead the defense in 2018. Pryor is a former five-star and looked good when he saw more playing time late in the season last year. He’s young, but he seems ready to go.

Riep, White, and Wint are all super unproven but save for Wint, they were highly touted coming out of high school. All things indicate that they’re ready to go if needed, and while I think Riep is the best of the bunch, I’m pretty confident in all of them.

Starting corners: Damon Arnette, Jeffrey Okudah, Kendall Sheffield

Backup: Shaun Wade, Tyreke Johnson

Even with losing what feels like a top ten pick every single season, Ohio State is still as talented at corner as ever. Arnette was solid last year, as was Sheffield. Okudah came on strong late last season, and seems ready to step in, while Sheffield shifts towards more of a nickel back role.

Wade and Johnson are both super young, inexperienced, former five stars. I don’t think either of them are ready to be lockdown, number one cornerbacks yet, but I do think they can hold their own if there are any injuries.
