Wide Receiver

Starting receivers: Parris Campbell, Johnnie Dixon, Austin Mack

Backups: K.J. Hill, Terry McLaurin, Binjamin Victor

Of all the units on this team, outside of on the defensive line, this one may be the best of the bunch. After years of bad receiver play, the Buckeyes finally have a massive group of depth and talent, as well as a new coach to finally accomplish what the last one couldn’t, in building a complete group of wideouts.

All six receivers that I listed will see significant targets this year. Campbell is the unquestioned leader of the bunch, in what is essentially Ohio State’s slot receiver spot, but K.J. Hill, his backup, is just as capable as Campbell. It’s the same story with big-play threats Johnnie Dixon and Terry McLaurin. They’re touchdown machines, that have struggled with routine catches at times.

The two most exciting parts of this group are Austin Mack and Binjamin Victor. They’re the two most talented receivers on the team and have flashed a ton of potential in their first few years. Either one could become a star in 2018, and they both have what it takes to play at the next level.

This group isn’t without elite young talent either. Jaylen Harris looked great in the spring, and five-star Jaelen Gill has reportedly shined in fall camp thus far. Former walk-on C.J. Saunders may be a factor in this group too, because he has a good connection with Dwayne Haskins, and has shown excellent hands in the past.
