Georgia Bulldogs Football: Can Bulldogs return to Playoff in 2018?
Georgia Bulldog Offense
For the Georgia offense, expect a balanced attack from both the air and ground game. The combination of depth at running back and an experienced offensive line, could give the Bulldogs the best ground attack in the nation. And even though the Bulldogs lost their top two tailbacks from 2017, Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, the run game should mirror itself from a season ago. Sophomore running back, D’Andre Swift, is set to take over as starter in a crowded and talented backfield. Despite playing behind Chubb and Michel, Swift still managed to gain 771 total yards and score four touchdowns, all on 98 plays.
Leading their air attack is sophomore quarterback, Jake Fromm. As a freshman, Fromm passed for over 2,600 yards, 24 touchdowns and completed a little over 62 percent of his passes. And in Georgia’s 15 games last season, Fromm only threw seven interceptions. And for Fromm and his big arm, he has plenty of talent returning at the receiver position. The Bulldogs return four of their top five receivers last year, including running back D’Andre Swift. But for Fromm, this year will be a true test of how he can handle pressure at his starting position.
The Bulldogs had one of the best recruiting classes of 2018 and as part of their haul, Georgia grabbed in-state quarterback and five-star recruit, Justin Fields. Although Fromm will be the Bulldogs’ starter at the beginning of the season, we could see a different quarterback under center by season’s end. Regardless of who is the starting signal caller, the Bulldogs are primed for a record breaking year on offense.
