4. Better recruiting classes

Both Jim Harbaugh and Urban Meyer are amazing recruiters, but Ohio State has consistently brought in better recruits over the past few seasons. Ohio State may have lost top talent to the NFL, but their depth at nearly every position is incredible due to their consistently strong recruiting.

Ohio State has had a recruiting class ranked in the top five the past three seasons. Michigan cracked the top five once in the past three seasons, and their 2018 class ranked 22nd.

Ohio State has had those better recruits every year, and even though they are relatively young compared at most positions compared to Michigan, that stronger talent makes up for any difference in experience.

According to 247sports, the last time Michigan had a better recruiting class than Ohio State in 2010. Jim Tressel was the coach of Ohio State and Michigan’s coach was Rich Rodriguez at the time. With Michigan’s lack of quality recruiting, it’s not surprising that Ohio State has won the last six games against Michigan.
