6. Michigan State, October 13, University Park, PA

Fortunately, Penn State has a bye week before another difficult matchup against Michigan State. The Nittany Lions will remember their 27-24 loss from last season in East Lansing.

The Spartans do not have a star, even though quarterback Brian Lewerke may improve this season as a redshirt junior and be one of the top three quarterbacks in the Big 10. They are a very balanced team with many different weapons in the rushing game and the passing game.

Michigan State returns their starting quarterback, running back, three leading receivers, and four leading tacklers. They will not have played a ranked opponent before this game, which will hurt them. Their best opponent before this game will be Arizona State

Like Ohio State, this game will come down to the wire, and even though Michigan State may have a better team, home-field advantage and the desire for revenge should carry Penn State to a win in this low-scoring game.

Final: Michigan State 14, Penn State 17 (6-0, 3-0 Big Ten)
