College Football: 2018 Saturday Blitz staff season projections
Projected College Football Playoff field
1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Georgia
4. Wisconsin
That’s right. Once again the SEC is slated to get two teams into the College Football Playoff. Although it seems wild, the circumstances surrounding another SEC double-bid are more than believable.
1. Clemson and Wisconsin take care of their conferences rather easily, either going undefeated or with one, non-blowout loss. Believable? Yes.
2. The Pac-12 and Big 12 each have 2-loss champions. With no obvious candidate for a perfect season in the Big 12, this falls on Washington in the Pac-12 North. Could they stumble once and lose the Pac-12 Championship Game? Sure. Believable? Yes.
3. Alabama and Georgia enter the SEC Championship Game undefeated. Each team lost to Auburn on the road in the regular season last year, but both get the Tigers at home in 2018. Believable? Yes.
If all of those hold true, we could be looking at another All-SEC Championship Game. And if that happens, it’s hard to pick against Nick Saban. The Saturday Blitz staff didn’t. We picked the Crimson Tide to win it all in 2017 and were proven correct. If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it. Nick Saban picks up National Championship number seven.
