5. Trace McSorley throws zero interceptions

Let’s get the obvious out of the way. Trace McSorley is one of the nation’s best quarterbacks and is a top candidate to win the Heisman. And one way to kick off a Heisman campaign is to start off the season firing on all cylinders. McSorley will do just that by not throwing a single interception in the first four games of September.

Ohio State has a good defense, but regardless if Penn State wins, chances are likely that McSorley throws an interception. But that can’t be said for their first four opponents.

In his career at Penn State, Trace McSorley has thrown only 18 interceptions in his 33 games played. McSorley is rarely going to force the issue, and is accurate in delivering the ball, improving his completion percentage from 57.9 percent in 2016 to 66.5 in 2017. And this would be a complete 180 for McSorley as he threw one interception in four of the Nittany Lions’ first five games a year ago.

Not throwing an interception in four straight games is a tough task to succeed but McSorley has all the right tools to do just that.
