2. Penn State will beat Ohio State

As you’ve probably already noticed, we’ve only been mentioning the first four games of September, and for good reason. The Ohio State Buckeyes are the toughest opponent the Nittany Lions play in September and potentially, all season. But that doesn’t mean the Nittany Lions will lose, in fact, Penn State will defeat the Buckeyes in late-September.

Although this matchup has seen some blowout wins from both teams, things have heated up over the past two seasons bringing it to the line of a rivalry game. Penn State took the matchup in 2016, putting them back on the college football map, while Ohio State won in 2017, despite Penn State leading for the majority of the game. But the 2018 game will resemble both macthups.

First off, it’s the annual Penn State White Out Game and just like in 2016, they’re hosting the Buckeyes. Secondly, the Nittany Lions will lead for the majority of the game but this time, will hold on to the end to finish the month 5-0.

And lastly, Trace McSorley will be the difference maker. His play in the last two meetings between these two teams has been key to their offense’s success.

Penn State is looking to prove that they won’t be taking any steps back, and their date with the Buckeyes will prove just that.
