Notre Dame football kicks the season off with a highly anticipated contest against Michigan. Here’s why the Irish will win.

Brian Kelly is looking to make the 2018 season his second straight double-digit win season in a row as this decade comes to a close. The Fighting Irish are led by a talented quarterback, a fast defense, and an excellent offensive line.

Michigan is looking to finally be taken seriously as a contender not only in the Big 10 but on a national level under Jim Harbaugh. They have arguably the best secondary in the country and have the speed that can match up with the best offenses in the country at all three levels.

Who will be some of the difference makers in this game? Will it be one of the talented quarterbacks? Should we expect a defensive struggle that won’t allow either offense to get things going? What will it take for Notre Dame to come out with a victory in Week 1?

Take a look at the five reasons I believe the Fighting Irish will be celebrating at the end of this contest.
