Listed as a wide receiver/running back in Notre Dame’s official 2018 roster, the 6-foot-1 Jafar Armstrong did most of his work on the ground in the season-opener against the Wolverines.

Armstrong toted the rock 15 times for 35 yards and two scores. While that isn’t a great yards-per-carry average, the sophomore did have a long of 13 yards, and he kept the Michigan defense off balance. He added two receptions for nine yards.

If it weren’t for the scores, though, Armstrong likely wouldn’t have earned a Blitz Sticker. However, without his two touchdowns, who knows what the outcome would’ve been?

He had the majority of the running back carries, out-pacing both Tony Jones Jr. and Avery Davis. Jones was the more efficient runner in terms of yards per carry, totaling five, but he failed to punch it in the end zone like Armstrong.
