Notre Dame Football: 5 players who earned Blitz Stickers vs. Michigan
By Phil Poling
Much like Jafar Armstrong, Brandon Wimbush does a lot of work with his feet even though he’s listed as a quarterback. He carried the ball 19 times for 59 yards, both team-highs for the Irish on Saturday.
The senior signal-caller also completed 12 of his 22 attempts through the air, adding a touchdown but also throwing an interception. Wimbush looked much more comfortable under center for the Irish compared to a yaer ago, though.
The strength of every Jim Harbaugh-coached team is their defense. If we’re being honest, though, that’s only because his offenses are routinely underwhelming.
Saturday’s defeat of the Wolverines was huge for Notre Dame. Not only did they beat a rival in the season-opener, but ESPN’s College GameDay was in South Bend, pitting all eyes on the Irish. Wimbush came out prepared, and it was evident he was confident. Expect him to collect Blitz Stickers this season like a child at an Easter-egg hunt.
