The highly-touted JT Daniels made his USC debut as the Week 1 starter for the Trojans and didn’t disappoint. He went 22-for-35 with 282 yards and hit Amon-Ra St. Brown in stride over the middle for a 43-yard touchdown.

The five-star prospect from Santa Ana, Calif., reclassified and enrolled into USC a full season early and turned heads all through the Summer. He was declared the starter last week after defeating Matt Fink and Jack Sears in a heated quarterback battle.

Daniels was rather shaky for most of the game, but a fourth quarter close call really made the difference. Daniels fumbled the ball but was ruled down after review of the play. From that point on, he was 5-for-7 with 138 yards and a touchdown pass. He also hit a beautiful pass up the seam to Trevon Sidney for a 41-yard gain.

If he can continue his second half success, Daniels will be fun to watch next week as they open up conference play against in-state rival Stanford.
