The running backs were tight in this game for Blitz Stickers. All three running backs excelled in different areas but Vavae Malepeai gets the prestigious honor as a Blitz Sticker recipient for Week One.

Vavae Malepeai didn’t have the best stat line in the Trojans backfield with 47 yards on eight carries but his two touchdowns stood out above the rest. His first score served as the first touchdown for the Trojans with 1:04 left in the first half. His second score came on a 20-yard scamper where he went completely untouched.

He may not have earned the job outright, with Aca’Cedric Ware taking 10 carries for a 100 yards and a score, but he certainly played an important role early on by keeping the Trojans within range of the Rebels going into halftime.
