Wisconsin Football: 5 bold predictions for September
3. Sophomore Kendrick Pryor emerges as No. 1 wideout
With the loss of Cephus and Davis, the next men up in the wide receiver rotation will be junior A.J. Taylor and sophomore Kendrick Pryor. Taylor emerged as one of the team’s most reliable wideouts in 2017, especially with the injury to Cephus. Pryor began the year injured after a vehicle accident in the offseason, but was able to appear in nine games for the Badgers.
Pryor finished the year with 13 catches and 179 yards, making up an average of just under 14 yards per catch. More impressively, he had five rushes on the year- two of which went for touchdowns. An under-the-radar guy that most defenses overlooked, Pryor was inserted into different offensive schemes and capitalized on the lack of attention from opponents.
If things hold up, Pryor will enter the year as Hornibrook’s No. 2 option most likely, which again gives him an overlooked presence- although not as much as last year. As a guy that can be placed wide on the field or in the slot, Pryor can go down the field and get a long ball or turn nothing into something on a short route.
While the casual college football fan may not know much about Pryor’s ability, Badgers fans should have noticed his play-making ability from a year ago and are eager to see what type of contributions he can make full-time.
