After a handful of close games, Week 1 is over. Now that we’ve had a real look at each team, here is a projection for the College Football Playoff Top 4.

In Week 1, college football picked up right where it left off. The top tier teams dominated much of the weekend, while a few underdogs challenged bigger named schools to give them an early season scare. Some of these scares included Michigan State sneaking by Utah State in a 38-31 win, and Penn State winning in overtime against Appalachian State, 45-38.

Additionally, the College Football Chick-Fil-A Kickoff game, between No. 9 Auburn and No. 6 Washington did not disappoint. Although it was a defensive stalemate for much of the game, it had the intensity of a playoff game. Auburn came out with the win, 21-16, but it was clear that both of these teams were of the best college football had to offer.

Look for both Auburn to move up in the rankings for next week and Washington to stay in the vicinity of where they were before the start of the season. However, neither will crack the Top 4. Here’s a look at the projected Top 4 rankings, and a possible way-to-early look at the College Football Playoff, after Week 1.
