Hold Back the Dawgs

To no surprise, the Georgia Bulldogs cruised to a win against the Austin Peay Governors. By the end of the first half, the Bulldogs were ahead, 38-0. Georgia scored one more touchdown in the third quarter before they finally called off the dawgs.

Jake Fromm started the game for Georgia and played the first half. This answered any lingering questions about whether or not true freshman, Justin Fields, had a shot at the starting job.

Fromm played well, completing 12 of 16 passes, for 157 yards and two touchdowns. At the start of the second half, Fields did get his opportunity under center. Fields too played with poise and comfort, passing for 63 yards and completed seven of his eight attempts. Fields showcased his mobility by rushing for 33 yards on three carries.

The Bulldogs shut out their opponent, which is more than any of the other top four teams can say. Therefore, the Bulldogs have a chance to move up a spot in the rankings to No. 2. In Week 2, Georgia will travel to South Carolina to take on the Gamecocks. South Carolina defeated Coastal Carolina with ease in Week 1. Next week’s game will be the first test for both teams.
