Well hey, Baylor has matched their 2017 win total! The Bears grabbed an easy win over Abilene Christian, a school that I’m not entirely convinced is real! For Baylor to get out on the right foot is a pretty big deal for a program that seems to be headed in the right direction. I have no strong opinions on this game, and frankly, neither should you.

The main thing that matters here, like I said, is that Baylor didn’t lose to an FCS program. That’s a step in the right direction. They have a chance to move even further up in the rankings next week if they can beat a UTSA team that I don’t think is very good.

Iowa State didn’t play because of weather issues, much to the dismay of their fans. Had they played, they would’ve likely beaten FCS opponent South Dakota State, and because they didn’t lose to an FCS team, or Maryland, or Ole Miss, I’m moving them up. They have to go somewhere, so I guess they’ll go here.

This weekend will tell us a lot about Iowa State, as they faceoff with Iowa. If they win that game, they may be a legitimate Big 12 contender, but if they lose it, they’ll likely return to that first week spot of 7th, barring anything strange happening with the teams currently behind them.
