I had TCU as my number two team in the conference coming into the season for good reason. I think they’re pretty obviously the main team that can threaten Oklahoma for the Big 12 title, and TCU seems to be the team with the least questions outside of the Sooners. That was confirmed in the first game, at least as much as it can be against such a bad team.

TCU’s offense looked great, putting up 55 points thanks to a good showing by Shawn Robinson in his first game, and some really solid drives. Their defense was even better, only allowing seven points, that came on a big pass play. They were dominant for almost the entire game, and I’m so excited to see this team play Ohio State in two weeks.

Oklahoma’s blow out win over FAU really caught me off guard. I thought Oklahoma would be able to handle the Owls, but I had a feeling Lane Kiffin’s play calling and offensive talent would keep it pretty close, or at least challenge the Sooners. Oklahoma had no such issues though, as they jumped all over FAU from the very beginning, with a massive 28 point first quarter.

Next. Building the perfect college football super team. dark

The offense looked great with Kyler Murray at the helm, Rodney Anderson had 100 yards on five carries, and in general, it looked like no Baker, no problem for the Sooners. The defense was somehow even more impressive, only allowing 14 points, both of which came in the second half. FAU’s offense is legitimately talented, and to see them get punched in the mouth like that really said a lot about Oklahoma’s prep and talent. I don’t see them leaving the top spot anytime soon.
