3. Dabo versus Jimbo

The battle of Dabo Swinney versus Jimbo Fisher isn’t over even if Fisher departed the ACC for the SEC. Fisher, now the head coach of the Texas A&M Aggies, will host Swinney and the Clemson Tigers. This has the makings for a fun matchup but the Tigers should handle the Aggies handily. The game will be played at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN in front of 100,000 fans in College Station.

Clemson was on a three game winning streak against Fisher’s former team the Florida State Seminoles before his off-season departure. The Tigers however hadn’t been dominating the series as FSU had won the previous three during Fisher and Swinney’s time as head coaches. The Aggies were an S&P+ top 25 program coming in at 24th overall while Clemson was third overall heading into week one FBS football.

Clemson has the best defensive line in the country and Jimbo Fisher loves to run a pro style attack with tight ends, fullbacks and a consistent running game. It will be interesting to see Fisher line up his brand of football against the power of the Clemson front four. Fisher might not have a squad filled with top level talent yet but he will build that program like he did at Florida State with the fertile recruiting ground in Texas.

Prediction: Clemson 42, Texas A&M 20
