College Football Playoff 2018: New Year’s Six projections after Week 1
Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl: Virginia Tech vs. UCF
The Virginia Tech Hokies had an impressive Week 1 win over the Florida State Seminoles. This win gave them an early season conference win and the edge over the Miami Hurricanes who stumbled out of the game, losing to the LSU Tigers in their season opener.
The Hokies look to be the favorite right now to take on Clemson in the ACC Championship Game, and with a maximum of two losses, the potential ACC runner-up should get in to a New Year’s Six bowl bid.
On the other side, are the the UCF Golden Knights, who won the Peach Bowl in 2017.
The Knights are clearly showing why they’re the best Group of Five team and with another undefeated season looming, UCF will make it back to the Peach Bowl.
Obviously, they should get considered for one of the four playoff spots but realistically they’re chances are slim. But not all would be lost, another season like last year would give them their second straight, self-anointed national title.
