Allstate Sugar Bowl: Oklahoma vs. Georgia

The Oklahoma Sooners kicked off their season with a thrashing for the FAU Owls. Kyler Murray made Baker Mayfield seem like somewhat as an afterthought with his performance. Now FAU isn’t a juggernaut but from the pass game to the run game, the Sooners showed why they’re destined to repeat as Big 12 champs. And should they win the conference with a loss, they should get into the playoff. But with the rest of the Big 12 getting better, a couple blemishes could be taken.

The Georgia Bulldogs are ready to get back to the College Football Playoff and take care of some unfinished business from last year. For them to get into the playoff, they’d have to win the SEC or go undefeated and lose a close SEC Championship battle.

But if those scenarios don’t happen, we’ll see the Bulldogs land in the Sugar Bowl taking on the Sooners — a rematch of last year’s semifinal game at the Rose Bowl. Another overtime thriller could be in the works.
