Mike Weber will win the Heisman
In 2016 Mike Weber was one of the best freshman running backs in the country. Rushing for over 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns. Last year he was hampered by a nagging injury and wasn’t as effective.
Freshman JK Dobbins took over and was a top back in the Big Ten, and many were wondering how he and Weber would work in the backfield when 100 percent healthy.
The first game of the season really seemed to reintroduce the country with how great Weber can be against quality competition.
He carved the Beavers defense up, running the ball 20 times for 186 yards and finding the end zone three times. He also hauled in a receiving touchdown on his only reception of the game.
Weber has clearly put himself into early consideration for a Heisman Trophy campaign, and the matchup against Rutgers should also be another huge performance by the talented junior.
