Ryan Day can lead this team to a title
Urban Meyer has been suspended for the first three games of the regular season due to the controversy involving Zach Smith. Instead of Kevin Wilson or Greg Schiano taking over the program offensive coordinator Ryan Day was given the keys to the team.
This was a smart decision because although both Wilson and Schiano are talented coaches they both come with baggage that could be a major distraction for the program. Day will come in and keep the offense afloat and the program will continue to be stable in Myer’s absence.
This first game showed exactly how potent the offense can be with Day calling the shots and everything clicking on all cylinders. To put up those kinds of numbers in an opening game are outstanding. The fanbase will think that Day can bring them a national title if something else comes up involving Meyer and Zach Smith but I’m here to tell you that even with his negative aspects as a coach Meyer is still arguably the second best in the business.
No matter how good Day is in these three games no fan in their right mind will look and think that the program will be better off without him.
