Shifty Swift

D’Andre Swift is like the little brother to Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, who is now getting his time to shine. Swift played a vital role towards the end of the season for the Bulldogs despite being the third string running back.

This year, Swift will likely take the majority of the meaningful touches after incoming freshman, Zamir White, tore his ACL during a team scrimmage earlier in training camp.

White appeared to be ready enough to play a significant number of downs. Those touches, at least for now, will primarily be given to Swift to handle. The good news is, Swift can easily manage those touches and still be productive.  Swift average 7.6 yards per carry last year and has only gotten better during the offseason. Additionally, Swift has shown that he is a capable receiveing back who can be used for screen plays or wheel routes out of the backfield.

South Carolina has a solid run defense. However, with the impressive offensive line that is blocking up front, and Swift’s experience against talented opponents, this week should be just another Saturday for D’Andre Swift. Look for him to have a 100+ yard game with multiple touchdowns this weekend.
