Georgia Football: 5 Reasons the Bulldogs will beat South Carolina
Jake versus Jake
So we have Jake Fromm going up against Jake Bentley. Both are talented quarterbacks. However, one has a 13-2 record with a Rose Bowl victory and a trip to the CFB National Championship game. The other, has a 13-7 record. One quarterback threw for 24 touchdowns and 7 interceptions, and the other, 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season.
You get where I’m going with this. Yes, Fromm had a better supporting cast and better situations throwing the ball. But, Bentley wasn’t a true freshman who had to fill in, unexpectedly, halfway through the first game of the year.
Additionally, if it weren’t for a spectacular second half performance by Alabama’s, Tua Tagovailoa, in the National Championship game, the narrative regarding Jake Fromm would be completely different.
Tons of attention and recognition is given to various other quarterbacks around the country, yet hardly enough is given to Jake Fromm. A quiet, humble, and reliable quarterback is what everyone wants; and Fromm is exactly that. There are people throwing out names for the 2018 Heisman Trophy all over the place. Jake Fromm will have equally impressive numbers as any of the other quarterbacks considered for the Heisman this year. South Carolina’s defense will be no match for the future Heisman candidate.
